“The Key to Motivation” has provided the “light bulb moment” for many organisations and the solution to successful collaboration in others. It has provided harmony where there was previously conflict and alignment where there was discord. It has allowed leaders to increase their effectiveness and helped to keep key people in place.
Delivered in keynotes, workshops and training courses, Michelle can add her analysis, Essence, for all participants to see the results live and add a further dimension to the delivery.
How did Michelle create Essence, the analysis tool?
Michelle first discovered the importance of our “values” (or “sub conscious drivers”) during the aftermath of the Boxing Day Tsunami, when, in the face of adversity, she realised that people she knew were presenting behaviour that was unexpected, or not in line with their usual behaviour. It left her with more questions than answers and led her to embark upon a journey of learning, research and discovery.
She found that when facing adversity, we revert back to the things that define what we learned in our formative years in terms of the importance of our values. She found that it is from these values that our motivation is born and that they are overpowering. She later learned that being in line with these factors can give us energy, happiness and fulfilment and yet being out of line with them can cause stress, sapping of energy and even illness.
However, she found that people have very different opinions on what our values are. Some believe them to be our moral compass. Some believe they are our work ethic. Others believe that we must share them to be recruited into an organisation or that they must be shared if teams are to succeed.
This is totally different to Michelle’s use of the word and her understanding of how they should be used. Instead, Michelle refers to the things that we learned in our primary childhood from external sources, such as our parents, teachers, or influencers that helped us to understand what was important.
These are dependent on our culture, our religion, and our upbringing, they will naturally have different priorities to others. Michelle believes that it is indeed possible to have different sub conscious drivers and yet to be able to have successful relationships, providing we understand them and the differences.
There is no right or wrong with the values that Michelle uses, just the order of preference.
So for clarification, she decided to use the phrase “sub conscious drivers” and named her analysis Essence.

Being aligned with your (Change this word to the red word) core values Subconscious drivers allows you to flourish and being out of alignment is what stops progression and development. It can even be destructive.
Michelle captures what is at the deepest level of your personality, with Essence, and can help you understand why others may perceive the world differently. It can show you why you are naturally drawn to some people and the reverse. It can show you what things in life you should pursue in order to be most fulfilled. This is the ultimate key to personal motivation and therefore to enhanced performance in all areas of your life.
